MART’s ‘Collective Marketing’ approach, is an innovative, effective and highly popular aggregation model for agriculture and non-agriculture produce/commodities to establish marketing system by CBOs at local level. The process encompasses aggregation to generate economies of scale, setting up marketing infrastructure (like drying platform, weighing system, cleaning & grading equipment etc.) standardization, packaging, transportation etc. and a series of capacity building and market exposure initiatives that establishes CBOs as a viable and sustainable business entity.
We have our rich experience of supporting producer groups under various bilateral projects such as OTELP, OLM, OFSDP, MP-DPIP, AP-DPIP, DPIP-Rajasthan, JTDS, JSLPS, MACP, Rabo Bank Foundation, PPCP, IEMaC, Swa Shakti, and APRLP across India and Adivasi Bazaar Committee (a farmer cooperative) in the tribal hinterlands of Odisha in Rabo bank Foundation Project and 50 Farmer Producers Organization in Maharashtra under MACP, a World Bank assisted project was promoted and successfully established.
MART has provided strategic solutions to many developmental projects in India and neighbouring countries. MART has initiated several national turnkey path breaking; market led large scale and sustainable projects for livelihood promotion resulting in development of better systems at different stakeholder levels. To name a few successful projects are Gramshree Mela (fair) for sale of artisan products in cities since 1989, appointment of 46000 women appointed dealers in SHG-HLL Project Shakti in 14 states, promoting 40000 entrepreneurs in APRLP, OTELP, WORLP, MPDPIP, APDPIP etc. and Collective marketing Model implemented in 3000 villages etc.
MART has conducted more than 40 value chain and market studies covering more than 50 products in agriculture, horticulture, NTFP, animal husbandry and non farm sector providing detailed and sustainable strategies to establish pro-poor value chains.
